MEGUMI RAIN めぐ美・レイン

Megumi grew up with music in her family as a traditional Shinai shamisen player, an Edo Period classical Japanese music tradition. She plays and sings traditional Shinai music and is one of a rare few who practice and maintain this tradition. Megumi co-founded Rain In Eden in 2003 with Kelly. She introduced Japanese Shamisen and other ethnic instruments into the project and worked to help bridge the band's acoustic and electronic foundations. Megumi is the band's visual designer and artist for all our media. Megumi is a licensed Shinai Shamisen player and singer. Megumi also plays Persian Santoor and Daf drum, Chinese Hu Lu Si, Clarinet, Tin Whistle and more. She is also a vocalist and composer for the band. |

KELLY RAIN ケリー・レイン

Kelly began his music career in Seattle with the Darkwave music project "Ninth Circle" an Ivy Records, Seattle recording artist. After moving to Japan, Kelly began working with Megumi to blend traditional acoustic instruments with electronic music. Together they began Rain In Eden in 2003. Kelly plays Afghan Rubab, Oud, Saz & Copuz, Persian Setar and Irish Low D whistle. He is also a vocalist and electronic music composer for the band. |

シューヘイ Shuhey
1991年、CGアニメ作家でベーシストの秋元きつね、ドラムのハッチャキらとバンド「Proto Air」を結成し、以降ギタリストとして様々なバンドで活動。 2011年、フレームドラムやイランの打楽器・トンバクを始める。フレームドラムは船原徹矢、グレン・ヴェレズ、ダービッド・クッカーマンから、トンバクは蔡怜雄、ペドラーム・カバールザミニーから指導を受ける。 現在はイラン・ペルシア古典音楽を中心に活動中。 ホームページ： https://shuhey.com/ |
Shuhey started out as a guitarist in ‘91, and later fell in love with the Iranian percussion instrument, Tombak in 2011. Since then, Shuhey has been taking lessons in Tombak, frame drum and daf from master teachers. Shuhey mainly plays Iran/Persian classical music now. https://shuhey.com/ |

石田 紫織 Shiori Ishida
タブラをPt.シュバンカル・ベナルジー、U-zhaanに師事。ポップスバンドでの活動ののち、02年よりタブラをはじめ、07年より毎年インドに数ヶ月滞在し研鑽を重ねる。15年インド政府奨学生としてラビンドラ・バラティ大学へ留学、器楽科パーカッション専攻で修士課程を終了し帰国。インド古典音楽の他、舞踊の伴奏やフュージョンにも積極的に取り組み、ヨーロッパ、アメリカなど国外でも公演を行なう。 http://ishidashiori.com/music/ |
Shiori started playing Indian tabla in 2002, visiting India every year since 2007, and training with Pt. Subhankar Banerjee for a few months each time. 箕輪 一広 Kazuhiro Minowa
90年代、民族楽器を多用した無国籍音楽グループUooMooに参加。3枚のCDアルバムを発表。 アルバム制作の中で使用していたアラブ～中近東の打楽器、ハンドドラム、フレームドラムの宇宙的、瞑想的リズムマジックに魅了され更なる音の探求が始まり現在に至る。 |
Performed with the borderless music project “UooMoo” in 90s and has been a percussion wizard since then. |

Herman Bartelen
Herman joined Rain In Eden very early on and helped the band define their original sound. Herman is a talented percussionist, composer and performer. He was a key member working to record and release our first CD in 2010. Herman left the band to pursue his own original music and remains very active in the Tokyo music community. |

Yuzo Hisada
Yuzo joined Rain in Eden along with Minowa-san and worked with the band during our most active early years. He is an extremely precise and talented percussionist and musicologist. His work with frame drums and other forms of percussion were amazing additions to our band. Yuzo is a member of Sag Chana and is now also producing his own original percussion instruments and frame drums in Japan. |
